We are very psyched to announce that Tony Lechner’s song, “Mocha Maya” won the John Lennon songwriting contest for best jazz song of 2010. Tony is the leader of Wild-Wood, the band that has played Mocha Maya’s so many times in the past. And his Gypsy Jazz instrumental original, that you can view just below, first won the “Session 2” jazz category and just recently the “Session 1” winner went head to head with “Mocha Maya” and Tony was victorious! Thank you to all of you that went and voted for it.

We now have a very limited supply of ‘Fire & Blood’ Ale! It’s made by Ommegang Brewing and HBO to celebrate the new season of Game of Thrones. The beer comes with three different labels, one each for the three dragons in the story. This beer is made in very limited quantities.

Fire and Blood has a deep, dark red hue with a persistent, creamy off-white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, raisins, malt and slight spice, followed by a slightly floral and spicy hop character. A fruity, sweetish malt taste gives way to faint drying provided by the hops and rye. Underlying flavors of raisin and prune from the ancho chilies give way to a balanced malty and spicy finish.
